YOU can take a stand against modern-day slavery
What is #MyFreedomDay?
We at 3Strands Global Foundation envision a world FREE. Human trafficking, otherwise known as “modern-day slavery,” is a global issue and the fastest growing criminal enterprise. We believe that prevention changes everything. It is the catalyst to freedom. You can take a step in preventing modern-day slavery by participating in CNN’s #MyFreedomDay. The event is student-led, and encourages everyone to take the pledge to take action to help end slavery.

The Forms of Human Trafficking
Sex trafficking is the use of force, fraud, or coercion to compel children and adults to engage in commercial sex acts against their will. It doesn’t always have to involve physical force. "In nearly a third of all sex trafficking cases active in 2019, defendants controlled their victims without using violence" (Feehs & Currier, 2019 Federal Human Trafficking Report, Human Trafficking Institute).
Labor trafficking is the use of force, fraud, or coercion to bring children and adults to work against their will in many different industries. Common businesses where labor trafficking can take place are restaurants and massage parlors.
Human Trafficking Prevention Education for You
Our co-founded program, PROTECT, provides human trafficking prevention education to educators, students, parents, caregivers, and various industries to help protect our communities from exploitation.
Through our Employ + Empower program, our Case Managers walk alongside survivors and those at-risk to provide them with direct services. They help connect clients in the program to sustainable employment, education programs, behavioral health services, and other resources they need to succeed, ultimately empowering them to create a better future.
We mobilize communities to join the fight against human trafficking through our Break Free Runs and other hosted events. Our co-sponsored bill, AB 1227, The Human Trafficking Prevention Education and Training Act, was signed into law. It requires human trafficking prevention education to be implemented in California schools.
