“Make the world a better place”, this is a line from the Girl Scout law that means so much to Girl Scouts around the world. As a part of this incredible organization, Allyson Jolly, a rising junior at Ponderosa High School, has been a Girl Scout since kindergarten. Always active in community service through scouting, Key Club, Warm Winters, and FFA her Girl Scout Gold Award project is the most impactful opportunity she has had to date. The Girl Scout Gold Award is equivalent to the Boy Scout Eagle Award with prerequisites and culminating in a lasting and self-sustaining act of community service that must total at least 80 hours of work. These projects provide girls with many life skills such as communication, financing, and planning.
