Join the Break Free Run volunteer team! Without you, this event is not possible. The Break Free Run is the biggest fundraiser of the year for 3Strands Global Foundation and its success is critical to the operation and further expansion of our human trafficking prevention programs.

About the Event

Stand up against human trafficking this October by participating in the 2021 Break Free Run! Each year, 3Strands Global Foundation hosts the 5K/10K walk/run to bring both local and global communities together, educating individuals on human trafficking awareness and prevention.

3SGF is thrilled to host the first in-person Break Free Run since 2019 and continue standing up for a world FREE. Join the volunteer team to be a part of the behind-the-scenes action! The event will take place (with proper health and safety precautions observed and implemented) at Lakeside Church in Folsom, CA. There are so many different volunteer positions/opportunities available; check them out and register below!

  • Truck Load at 3SGF Warehouse

    Heavy lifting involved Thursday, October 14th - 4-7pm Volunteers will meet at the 3SGF warehouse in El Dorado Hills to load equipment and other prep materials into the truck. This job involves heavy lifting (moving boxes, cases of water, etc.) so please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes.

  • Packet Pick-Up (shift 1)

    Friday, October 15th 9:30am - 12:30pm Volunteers will meet at Gold Country Run and Sport in El Dorado Hills to assist in the distribution of runner bags and race shirts to runners who have pre-registered for the event. Volunteers will also assist with the registration of new runners/walkers. The minimum age is 14.

  • Course Trail Guides

    Saturday, October 16th 6:30am - 10:30am "Volunteers will be assigned a position along the 5K or 10K course. Volunteers will be responsible for giving runners and walkers directions, and also be cheering for them as they walk/run by. " Friday, April 9th 12-3pm Volunteers will monitor the bounce houses, keeping them safe for the kids! Minimum age 18.

  • Start/Finish Line/Pace Signs

    Saturday, October 16th 7:30-10:30am Volunteers will assist in the set up and operations of the start/finish line area. This may include moving and organizing post-race food, moving cones and flagging, clearing the finish line for runners, etc. This will also include holding the runner pace signs at the start line in the designated positions until all runners have taken off.

  • Tear Down

    Saturday, October 16th 10:30am-2:30pm Volunteers will help tear down start/finish line and vendor areas. Volunteers will also assist in cleaning up event site.

    Saturday, October 16th 7-11am Volunteers will set-up water stations prior to the race and stay at the assigned water station to pass out water and Gatorade to participants. Volunteers will help clean up and break down water stations at the end of the 5K and 10K run.
